Our Mighty Mites program is an early step in our Union 10 FC player pathway. This pre-academy program helps children 4 and 5 years old to begin developing individual soccer skills that will establish some of the fundamentals in their soccer journey.

The season consists of two training sessions per week with a focus on age-appropriate skills development and confidence building through fun, age-appropriate activities allowing players to form strategies and problem-solve.

Our Mighty Mite players are the youngest pre-academy players who will begin playing small-sided games. Teams play in our recreational league and games are 4v4 with an emphasis on skill application and decision-making rather than results. This deliberate choice allows players to implement what they’ve learned in practice and fosters a healthy approach to competition, creating an environment where growth and learning take precedence over the score. Because of the number of Mighty Mites teams, the training coaches may not be with every team, so we do ask parents to lean in and help coach/manage their child’s team during games.

A Union 10 FC training top will be issued to players shortly after the initial practices begin.

Players need to have the following equipment for the season:

• Soccer Cleats

• Soccer Ball (Use this guide for the appropriate size needed)

• Shin Guards

• Water Bottle

• Black Soccer Shorts for training and games

• Soccer Socks, for training, to be worn over shin guards
